The biochemicals production and microbial fuel cell are promising biotechnologies and still in their initial stage.

    The study on the controllability of heat exchanger network (HEN) is summarized, and two control logics are analyzed, which include controllability index method and bypass optimal control logic. The advantages and shortages of these methods are further discussed. In addition two aspects of process and control in the design of HEN should be considered at the same time. Integration of process and control is the promising direction of the design of HEN in the future.

    Fluidization and organic matter degradation of bioparticle play important roles in enhancing the efficiency and stability of the biological fluidized bed reactor. In this paper, some behavior characteristics, such as particle streamline, particle mixing, particle cluster, bioparticle granulation, bioparticle absorption and oxidation of organic matter and bioparticle mass transfer-reaction, are discussed. This paper also suggests that some measures can be adopted to strengthen bioparticle behavior by choosing support correctly, setting reactor internals reasonably or applying immobilized cell technique and so on.

    The characteristics of oily wastewater are reviewed. Some routine treatments for oily wastewater, such as air-floating method, flocculation method, electrolytic method, membrane separation method, biologic method, etc. are presented and their advantages and shortcomings are discussed. At the same time new treatments for oily wastewater, such as electro-catalysis and combination technologies are introduced. The progress and application prospect of electro-catalysis are emphasized. Finally the merits of electro-catalysis for the disposal of oily wastewater are analyzed and the problems to be resolved for industrial application of electro-catalysis for the disposal of oily wastewater are pointed out.

    The direct oxidation of propane to acrylic acid has become a topic of general interest in catalytic oxidation of light alkanes in recent years. The MoVTeNbOx mixed metal oxide catalysts are considered to be the best catalysts in this catalytic reaction. This article reviews the recent research progress of the factors influencing catalytic properties of the MoVTeNbOx mixed metal oxide catalysts in the direct oxidation of propane to acrylic acid, and introduces the new technology development of light alkanes selective oxidation reaction which can be used in the direct oxidation of propane to acrylic acid.

    Poly(p-phenylenevinylene) derivatives, with large-conjugated systems, are the most well-studied conjugated polymers due to their excellent luminescent and mechanical properties. As electroluminescent materials, PPV derivatives have good flexibility, low threshold voltage, tunable band gaps, etc. The structures of PPVs are multiple, because they can be designed and synthesized by different methods. This article summarizes the recent progress of electroluminescent PPVs and discusses the prospect of application.

    Catalyst is the key to the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx, and its catalytic performance directly affects the removal effect of NOx. A review of deNOx catalysts in recent years, including noble metals, metal oxides, molecular sieves, carbon-based catalyst was presented. Several new catalyst, which involve carbon nanometer materials (CNTs) catalysts and solid heteropoly acids catalysts were introduced. The catalysts, which use carbon materials as support and solid heteropoly acids catalyst show outstanding low temperature activity, strong thermal stability and high deNOx efficiency, with promising industrial application.     The importance of bioaugmentation research of functional uncultureable microorganism is presented and the methods of bioaugmentation of functional uncultureable microorganism are introduced,such as Biolog technique,molecular ecology technique,and nutrition supplementation. The testing strategy after intensification of the functional uncultureable microorganism is introduced. It includes molecular biology techniques(DGGE,T-RFLP,RFLP,ARDRA,T-RFLP),biomarker techniques(quinone profile technique,phospholipid fatty acid profile technique). After the functional uncultureable microorganism is activated,the metabolic activity and the degradation ability of COD are tested by these methods. The aim is to optimize the activator of functional uncultureable microorganism and to improve the ability of activated sludge in wastewater treatment.

    The optimal control technology of the microbial fermentation process is a crucial part of fermentation engineering. The researches on bioprocess optimal control techniques in recent years are reviewed from two points,modeling and control methods. The modeling techniques include the mechanism based methods,the experience based ‘black-box’ methods,and the hybrid methods by combining different modeling techniques. The progress of the research in the model based optimal control strategies are reviewed. It demonstrates that an efficient method to deal with the control problems in bioprocess optimization is to construct a dynamic optimization controller,based on hybrid modeling and multi-objective optimization techniques. Finally,some important problems which need to be resolved in the implementation of fermentation optimal control are presented.

Meanwhile both traditional processes (naphtha catalytic reforming,pyrolysis gasoline) and the recently developed new processes (paraffin zeolite reforming,short-chain hydrocarbons aromatization) for BTX production are introduced. On this basis suggestion is made to increase aromatics production in the coming years.

    A Gaussian equation with four eigenvalues was proposed and applied to the crosslinking reactive extrusions of mPE and LDPE in a twin-screw extruder to elucidate the rules of their macroscopical mixing based on another Gaussian equation with three eigenvalues. It was found that the regression results of the Gaussian equation with four eigenvalues to the residence time distribution (RTD) curves of the crosslinking reactive extrusions of mPE and LDPE were more precise than that of the Gaussian equation with three eigenvalues,but these two kinds of Gaussian equations did not have definite physical meanings. For these reasons,we proposed a double main-flows plus single backflow cell model (revised DBFC model,named as RDBFC) according to the structural characteristics of the twin-screw extruder,which can describe the RTD curves of the crosslinking reactive extrusions of mPE and LDPE more satisfactorily because its eigenvalues all have definite physical meanings.

    The ethylene cracking C9 was used as raw material. The catalyst was A ( Ni /γ-Al2O3 ) .First stage hydrogenation process was carried out in a microreactor. The results showed that colorless transparent solvent oil or gasoline blending stock of high-octane value can be obtained by hydrogenating of cracking C9. Bromine value of this product was 714.3 mgBr/100g. By measuring the bromine value and absorbency of the product oil, the effect of space velocity, pressure and temperature on the hydrogenation effect of cracking C9 was investigated. The optimal conditions of hydrogenation were as follows: space velocity 0.3 h-1, reaction pressure 0.9 MPa, reaction temperature 235 ºC.

    PANI/PMMA composites were obtained via in-situ emulsion polymerization in water, using DBSA as emulsifier and doping agent. The PANI/PMMA composite were characterized by TEM, FTIR, UV-VIS, TG and XPS. The result showed that PANI/PMMA composite were in the range of 80—120 nm, and its electrical conductivity was 10-2 S/cm, almost the same as DBSA doped PANI.

    A new route for the preparation of 4-hydroxy-2, 2, 6, 6 - tetramethylpiperidinyl-1-oxy with hydrogen peroxide (30%) in the presence of Mg-Al hydrotalcite was proposed. The structure of the product was verified by elemental analysis, IR, and GC-MS. The effects of reaction time, molar ratio of reactants and catalyst dosage on the yield were investigated. The best reaction conditions were as follows:mole ratio of H2O2 to 4-hydroxy -2,2,6,6- tetramethyl- piperidine 3.0∶1.0, catalyst dosage(based on the amount of 4- hydroxyl -2,2,6,6- tetramethylpiperidine)2.5 %,reaction temperature 70 ºC and reaction time 2.5 h. Under these conditions,a high yield of over 97% was obtained. The catalyst could be reused with high activity. This heterogeneous catalyst had the advantages of high activity,simple workup procedure,non-pollution and reusability,which contributed to the green process greatly.

    In this paper,a series of hexaaluminate oxides LaMAl11O19-δ(M=Fe,Co,Ni,Mn and Cu)were prepared by decomposition of nitrates and calcination at a high temperature .     Poly(silphenylene-dimethyl siloxane)s (PTMPS-DMS) containing crosslinkable vinyl groups were synthesized through the Si—H/Si—OR polycondensation process. The crosslinked PTMPS-DMS networks were prepared by hydrosilation and the BPO thermal crosslink process respectively. TG,DSC and isothermal gravimetric analysis at 300℃ showed that the crosslink process had great impact on the thermal properties of the crosslinked networks. The BPO thermal crosslinked network,which began to degrade at 480℃ in air,possessed much higher thermo-oxidation stability than that crosslinked by the hydrosilation process,which began to degrade at 368℃ in air. The Tgs of these two networks had no significant difference,which were -55℃ and -49℃,respectively. It showed that the catalyst H2PtCl6 greatly decreased the thermo-oxidation stability of the PTMPS-DMS networks.

    The effect of redox potential regulation on the metabolites distribution in succinic acid production by anaerobic fermentation of Actinobacillus succinogenes was studied. In the serum bottle fermentation,potassium ferricyanide and dithiothreitol which did not have inhibition on fermentation,were selected as the oxidizing agent and reducing agent respectively. Potassium ferricyanide and dithiothreitol were used to control redox potential from -100 mV to -450 mV in 3 L fermenter. It was shown that the optimum redox potential or oxidoreduction potential (ORP) for cell growth and succinic acid production was -350 mV. Comparing with the fermentation without redox potential regulation,the productivity of succinic acid and the ratio of succinic acid to acetic acid enhanced from 0.75 g/(L·h) to 1.18 g/(L·h) and 2.5 to 3.9 respectively.

    1,4-dipalmitoyl hydroxyroline,a skin anti-aging agent used in cosmetics was synthesized from L-hydroxyproline and palmitoyl chloride. The influence factors,such as molar ratio of raw materials,the reaction time,temperature and media of reaction were studied. The appropriate reaction conditions were as follows:volume ratio of acetone 50%,molar ratio of L-hydroxyproline to palmitoyl chloride 1∶2.5,pH 9-10,reaction temperature 15 ℃,reaction time 4 h. After separation,a white solid powder with melting point of 81-85 ℃ was obtained.

    Adipic acid was synthesized by tungstomolybdophosphate acid-catalyzed oxidation of cyclohexanol with 30% hydrogen peroxide in the absence of organic solvent and phase-transfer agent. The effects of amount of catalyst and of 30% H2O2,reaction temperature and time were investigated. Under the optimal conditions,i.e.,molar ratio of cyclohexanone:tungstomolybdophosphate acid:hydrogen peroxide 100∶0.15∶500,reaction temperature 120℃,reaction time 8 h,the isolated yield of adipic acid could reach 82.0%.

    A compound 2-(3-hydroxyphenyl)[60] fullerene pyrrolidine was synthesized by the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of the fullerene(C60) and azomethine ylide (prepared from glycine and 3-hydroxybenzaldehyde). The product was characterized by UV-Vis,1H-NMR ,FT-IR and MS. The reaction conditions affecting the yields of product were investigated and the optimum reaction conditions with product yield 75% (based on consumed C60) were:molar ratio of C60∶3-hydroxybenzaldehyde:glycine 1∶3∶6,reaction temperature 95℃,reaction time 18h. DTA test showed good thermal stability of the product.
    Removal of nitrogen oxides of low concentrations in biofilter packed with activated carbon

    A biofilter packed with activated carbon was set up to study the removal of nitrogen oxides of low concentration under high flow load. The experimental result showed that the best NOx purifying efficiency reached 99%. The optimum sprinkling amount and gas flow were 3L/h and 0.4—0.5m3/h,respectively. When gas flow was 0.56m3/h,NOx concentration in inlet gas was 480 mg/m3 and residence time was 18.4s,the purification efficiency of NOx could reach 96.67%. The main denitrifying bacteria were Paracoccus and Thiobacillus; the biological purification reaction took place mainly not on internal surface but on external surface of activated carbon attached with biofilm .

    A submerged membrane bioreactor was developed for Cordyceps sinensis fermentation With continuous culture for 6 d,the results showed that the concentration of biomass was 33.2 g/L,the exo-polysaccharide concentration was 5.4 g/L. Moreover,the system was beneficial for Cordyceps sinensis exo-polysacharides (EPS) separation from mycelia in the effluent broth. Also it can be applied to producing EPS of other fungi with high yield.
    Adsorption of bacteria on chalcopyrite mineral surface

    The adsorption behavior of bacteria on the surface of chalcopyrite was studied. The test results showed that the adsorption isotherms of T. f on chalcopyrite mineral surface could be described by the Freundlich equation. The culture age of the bacteria was in logarithmic growth anaphase with apparent attachment. pH value of 1.5~3.0,ionic strength of 50~100 mg/mL and non-ionic surfactant concentration of 0.005%~0.1% were favorable to adsorption while the temperature had no evident effect on the attachment within the range of investigation. The adsorption kinetics was tested with the pseudo second order reaction model. The rate constant of adsorption for this kinetics model was calculated. Further analysis indicated that the pseudo second order chemical reaction model provided better correlation of data.

    Zn1-xMnxO thin films of the different substrate temperatures and the defferent doping proportion were grown on SiO2 substrates by pulsed laser deposition ( PLD). XRD,AFM,UV-Vis spectrophotometer were used to characterize ZnO films. The results indicated that the films had mainly (103) peaks and rather flat surface. Absorption spectra showed that ZnO thin films had obvious absorption sides at about 378nm and there was no evident change in absorption with substrate temperature. Through analysis of Zn1-xMnxO thin films absorption spectrum,it was found that Mn-doping changed the ZnO thin film energy gap. Along with increasing amount of Mn-doping,thin film energy gap increased. Thin films light absorption also transited from direct jump to indirect jump process.

    By using yttrium oxide and europium oxide as starting materials,europium-doped yttrium phosphate-vanadate phosphors were prepared by the co-precipitation method with ammonium metavanadate and ammonium monoacid phosphate as precipitating agent. The sample was investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM),X-ray diffraction (XRD),excitation spectra and emission spectra and brightness test. The SEM images showed that the particles of the sample were more uniform and smaller than those made by the solid-state method. And the sample also had higher emission intensity. The chromaticity coordinate and color rendering index could be adjusted via changing V/P in the sample.

    The stress corrosion cracking(SCC)susceptibility of type 304 stainless steel in NaCl solution was studied by slow strain rate test(SSRT). The fracture morphology of SCC was observed and analyzed by using scanning electron microscope(SEM). A new instrument was designed to apply stress to the specimen of type 304 stainless steel. The effect of chloride concentration on the passive film crack potential was also studied in situ by using the electrochemical technology under constant strain. The critical chloride concentrations of SCC and passive film crack potential for type 304 stainless steel were obtained,and they were basically the same.

    Based on the ‘three-link-model’ of the monsodium glutamate factory energy system, the way of improving energy efficiency is pointed out for the factory. Some energy-saving measures are recommended according the process and equipment operation in the factory. From a comparision of energy efficiency after and before improving energy system, the consumption of energy decreased by 18.59%, recovery efficiency of energy and exergy increased by 20.34% and 10.37% respectively. The energy-saving measures and the three-link model are viable and reliable.

    Based on the experiment data from biodiesel production in laboratory, an artificial neural network (ANN) model was developed for predicting the biodiesel conversion by using BP (Back-Propagation) algorithm. The appropriate topology of ANN was obtained. The learning rate, the momentum factor and overfitting phenomena in BP network were discussed. It was shown that the ANN model can correlate and predict the biodiesel conversion accurately after comparing the prediction results with the experiment data. The average prediction error of the biodiesel conversion was 1.917%,and the correlation coefficient R was equal to 0.9996. The ANN model was optimized by incorporating genetic algorithm. Optimal operation conditions of the biodiesel production were obtained by using the ANN model developed.

    A new flat strip-insert with elliptical teeth and notches was developed to solve the problem of rapid fouling growth and reduced heat transfer coefficient at a low flow rate in heat transfer tubes. The notches were distributed and staggered on both sides of the strip. An oblique tooth followed each tooth. Thus, the fluid flowed spirally. It was just like the flow when twisted strip with oblique teeth was inserted in tubes. Such spiral flow enables the flat strip-insert to self-rotate and remove fouling on tube wall at a low flow rate. Much strong vortex was produced behind each elliptical tooth, which were distributed uniformly, so convective heat transfer was enhanced greatly. The tube side heat transfer film coefficient increased by two times in comparison with that without any insert. The enhancement was more than simple twisted strip by over 5 times. The flow resistance coefficient was much higher than that of simple twisted strip, but the overall equipment resistance was not high and was in the range of engineering application. The new flat strip- insert with elliptical teeth and notches can be made through injection molding. The manufacture cost was low and the quality was quite good. It can be put into mass production and used widely in heat transfer equipment.

    An experiment of the chemical industrial park wastewater treatment by flat MBR system got excellent treatment effect. The removal rates of COD and NH3-N were over 95% and 99% respectively. The MLSS in this MBR system kept stable at 8200 mg/L,the SS of treated water was almost 0,all the indexes reached the Chinese standard of reclaimed water (GB/T 18920—2002). This experiment result showed that the flat MBR system had the advantages of simple process,small land occupancy,high efficiency,and good treatment result. An economic analysis showed that the unit treatment cost of flat MBR was only a little higher than Cyclic Activated Sludge System (CASS). It is a good way for the chemical industrial park to take wastewater into recycle,save resource and reduce pollution.
