The developments of synthesis routes and production technologies of CL-20 in the last two decades are reviewed. The research achievements in condensation, debenzylation, nitrolysis and crystal transition are summarized, discussed and analyzed. Most of these achievements were obtained during the end of last century and the beginning of this century. In addition, the novel three-step synthesis route of CL-20,which appeared in the literature in 2004,is also introduced in some detail. CL-20 is obtained directly in this route,by nitration of the hexasubstituted hexaazaisowurtzitane derivatives formed by reaction of the α,β-dicarbonyl derivatives with other primary amines rather than benzylamine. This new technology might be significant in lowering the production cost of CL-20.

A new type of flocculant - polyzinc silicate sulfate (PZSS) with different concentrations of SiO2,Zn/Si molar ratios, polymerization times and pH values were prepared and the effects of such preparation parameters on the structure were studied with IR spectroscopy. The results showed that the structure of PZSS was dependent on the concentration of SiO2,molar ratio of Zn/Si,polymerization time,pH value and so on. It was proved by IR spectroscopy that Zn2+ and hydrolyzed ion were chelated with polysilicic acid to produce the polymer of zinc-silicon. The reaction was not the simple physical blending, but the chemical reaction forming the inorganic polymer with special structure. The better flocculating efficiency was resulted mainly from the chemical and physico-chemical factors among the components.

The preparation of gas hydrate in a novel rotating packed bed reactor was investigated. At 5 MPa and 277.15K,the experiments were conducted to examine the effects of high gravity factors β,liquid to gas ratio on the capacity of gas hydrate. Experimental results indicated that the capacity of gas hydrate increased with increasing high gravity factors β. However, the effect was not obvious at a high gravity factors greater than 120. The capacity of gas hydrate increased firstly with increasing liquid to gas ratio, and then gently decreased. The optimum process conditions were as follows: liquid to gas ratio about 10 L/m3. The mechanism of hydrate formation by high gravity was studied with the theory of crystal chemistry. Compared with the traditional system, the high gravity system accelerated the process of dissolution, nucleation and crystal growth to a great extent, and gas capacity was also significantly increased.

With increasing ecological and environmental concerns, the use of halogenated flame-retardants are being limited and halogen-free alternatives will be developed rapidly. Resorcinol bis (dipheny1 phosphate) (RDP) is a non-halogen aromatic oligomeric phosphate flame-retardant and flow modifier. Its high thermal stability and low volatility make it ideal for use in applications where high processing temperatures are required. In this paper,RDP was used as a single flame retardant of resilience polyurethane foam, and used together with exfoliated graphite (EG) as synergistic flame retardant. The limited oxygen index (LOI) of foam specimen was tested according to the GB 2406—80 standard and vertical flammability was tested in terms of CCAR25.853 (b) Flammability Teat Method.

Lipolase was chemically modified with fatty acids. The hydrolysis activity, interfacial hydrolysis activity and esterification activity in hexane of the modified lipolase were assayed. The results showed that the interfacial hydrolysis activity and esterification activity of the modified lipolase increased apparently, although the hydrolysis activity decreased a little compared with the unmodified lipolase. The surface tension and the interfacial tension of the modified and unmodified lipolase were also investigated. The surface tension and interfacial tension of the solution of modified lipolase were much lower than those of unmodified lipolase. The Langmuir-Blodgtt monolayer film of modified lipolase was obtained by the use of LB technique and the surface pressure was higher than that of unmodified one, showing that it was much easier to congregate on the interface. All results showed that lipolase modified with fatty acids had an enhanced activity on the interface, making it advantageous to use modified lipolase in organic solvent and two phase system.

In order to improve the microorganism fermentation process of producing glutamine,an electrodialysis method was developed to separate glutamic acid and glutamine. The feasibility of this method was predicted through calculating cation and anion concentrations in typical amino acid mixture solutions, and then validated by electrodialysis experiment. Furthermore, the influence of ammonium sulfate on the separation of amino acids mixture was investigated. Through the theoretical prediction and experiment tests, electrodialysis method could be used directly to separate glutamic acid and glutamine, and a little ammonium sulfate in the mixture benefited the separation process.
