Abstract: Recent research on the biological safety of nano-materials is summarized. Moreover，several research aspects are introduced，including the transport of nano-materials in the environment，the relationship between the size and structure of nano-materials and their biological effects，the possible mechanisms by which nano-materials interact with biological tissue，the criteria of evaluating the biological safety of nano-materials. The prospect of the study on the biological safety of nano-materials is also discussed.
