Abstract: The new progress of catalysts for bisphenol A synthesis is reviewed，which includes the modification of existing ion exchange resins，new-type catalysts such as molecular sieves，heteropoly acids，synthetical solid acid personally，ionic liquids，etc. Compared with ion exchange resins，mesoporous molecular sieves，heteropoly acids and ionic liquids show excellent catalytic performance. The existing problem and further research are indicated. The future development of catalysts is also discussed .
