Abstract: Paraffin wax emulsion with wax content over 50 % and good fluidity，excellent stability and dispersivity，is a cream color emulsion. The environment-friendly and high wax content emulsion was prepared from industrial paraffin wax and a new compounded emulsifier by a special method. The effects of the type and quantity of the emulsifier，the proportion of various components in the new compounded emulsifier，the temperature and time of emulsification，and stirring speed on the emulsification were investigated. The experimental result indicated that the new compounded emulsifier was better than conventional emulsifier. The optimum condition was as follows：new compounded emulsifier 7 % (mass)，emulsification time 40 min，emulsification temperature 90 ℃，stirring speed 1700 r/min. Under this condition，the wax content in the paraffin wax emulsion reached 50 %，and has good stability，dispersivity，and fluidity.
